CL has a very nice senior open tourney this weekend. Zoysia fairways are just about perfect on this course right now. Tee boxes are good and today greens were fast. Played a practice round on thursday and greens were really slow and bunkers were for shit.
Today greens were much faster and took a little getting used to. Bunkers had been taken care of and were nice and fluffy. Only bad thing they are playing from the white tees.
Thursday hit the ball really well off the tee which led to a good 77. Today it is amazing how a couple of days will make a difference. Couldnt feel comfortable and struggled with the driver and shot an 81. Amazing I am in third place but I am six shots out. Teed off early and had a nice breeze today so the heat was not a factor as much as thursday.
Another early tee time tomorrow at 8:30 so hopefully I will miss the big part of the heat. My downfall was on number eight couldnt get comfortable and hit a ball dead right with a push slice OB. Shot 43-38
Was really pleased with the round except for the stupid triple. _________________ 2009 GKL semi-finalist and took it on the chin from Friar Tuck |

Well all good things must come to an end. Shot a blisteering 92 today. New there was no way for three good rounds. Played with the leader today and was a couple of strokes up going into seven. Bad tee shot followed by a bad second shot. Ball way above my feet and in the rough. First shot pull hook out of bounds and second in the hazard to finish with a ten. Kept grinding away, missed a few putts but was still in it. Then huge pull hook on 13, thru the hazard. Dropped and still thought I could make six and keep grinding. Good third and proceeded to air mail one over green into deep rough and ended with a 9. Kinda gave up after that. Missed many putts inside five feet today. Oh well, cold beer, good company and good tourney. First place payed 450 in club house bucks. Maybe next year. _________________ 2009 GKL semi-finalist and took it on the chin from Friar Tuck |

That's a nice first prize! What was the cost to enter and did you use handicaps or was it straight up? _________________ "Although golf was originally restricted to wealthy, overweight Protestants, today it's open to anybody who owns hideous clothing." Dave Barry |

You played full handicap and you were flighted before you started. Tom said my bracket was ten to thirteen. It was 100 entry. Included a practice round, I think for 15, Golf both days and lunch on saturday.Carts included. I had a great time and met some really nice people both days. I still like this course alot and they always have good tourneys. _________________ 2009 GKL semi-finalist and took it on the chin from Friar Tuck |
