Kincaid Lake and Carter Caves courses closing

Article on the Herald-Leader website about the state closing these courses closing permanently. Also are currently evaluating what to do with General Butler golf course as well. The courses will be permanently closed and repurposed in some way. I've never played either of these, but I seem to remember a few of you like General Butler? Seems like Kincaid has come up on here as well. No recollection of any Carter Caves discussion.

Golf courses aside the state parks are rough in general.

A few weeks back when we took our road trip up to Lafayette/Falls we swung through Rough River State Park just to get out and walk a little. Everything there looked rough.

We stayed at Carter Caves when playing the State Park courses out there. Its a rough course. Like Long Run. Weeds and crabgrass everywhere.

Carter Cave and Butler are no great losses in my opinion. Been a while since I played CC but played Butler this past fall. Personally I think it's pretty awful. Surprised to hear they will keep Audubon State Park 9 hole course open. Similar to Butler but not as bad.
