NOTES:

TEE TO GREEN CONDITION 5-11-06

This course is open to the public. They gleefully took my Mastercard. They also take Visa and American Express. You must wear a collared shirt. They have a driving range. No caddies and no beer. You may walk any time on weekdays, and after 3:00 on weekends. A few houses on the course that do not impede play. On course accommodations are available.
Peninsula has rolling bermuda grass fairways leading to bent grass greens. Greens are small to medium sized and often have two tiers with moderate undulation. Scenic elevation changes. They have very little water in play. 68 bunkers. Favorably noted in golf publications. We like it too!
Built in 1997. Designed by Pete Dye.
6,647 yards from the tips. 18 hole, par 72.
Slope 124 Rating 71.5
They have shorter tee positions to accommodate other levels of play.

ON COURSE COMMENTS 5-06

We played through the rain on a drenched course at this visit so we have to evaluate based on what we think it will look like when the course dries out.
The greens were remarkably smooth and fast even given adverse weather conditions. Great greens. Bunkers were cut nice and looked as though they would be in good condition once they dried out and were raked. Fairways (bermuda) were good and on the verge of becoming excellent with just another couple weeks of warm weather growth. Course looks primed to be in great shape this year.
Though not a long course, design is good and requires some thinking to score well. A few tee boxes are not level.
We gave $32 on a weekday with GPS cart. This is a nice course at a bargain rate. Get good directions.
