KENNY RAPIER GOLF COURSE

668 Loretto Rd. Bardstown, KY 40004 Phone 502-349-6542

NOTES:

TEE TO GREEN CONDITION 7-30-09

This course is open to the public. The name was changed in 2002. They welcome my credit cards. You need a collared shirt. No tank tops or cutoffs. Walking is fine. No caddies and no beer. My Old Kentucky Home is part of the Kentucky state park system.
They have Bermuda tees and fairways leading to medium to large Bent grass greens. Most of the course is cut through forest, while a few holes are somewhat open, links style. Sand is a prominent feature. Water is occasionally in play.
The front nine was constructed in the 90s and used to be the back nine. The original nine (built 1928) has been replaced in 2002 with a new design more in harmony with the front nine and modern golf. Redesigned by Fred Rux.
18 hole, 6,385 yard, par 71 course.
70.4 Rating 128 Slope
...And of course, they have other tees to accommodate other levels of play.

Some of the new holes are quite picturesque. The redesign is a great improvement.
As we feared when we first saw the redesign, many of the new tee boxes are having trouble keeping grass due to the tree cover around them. Fairways were nice.
We gave $21 with a lung card on a weekday.
